6m Saturday Championship, July Edition
The final results don’t accurately reflect how close the racing was this Saturday, with six evenly matched yachts battling it out on a new “rectangle with sausage” course.
It was interesting as different helms seemed to drift in and out of form with clusters of good results.
Graeme Harris, finished most strongly to defeat Doug Penman, who had been leading at the mid point. Whilst Kevin Boyd’s challenge faded along with his batteries!
The “Battle of the Varkers” was as intense as usual, with Port Tack starting Barbara unlucky to lose a clear lead by clipping a mark in one race.
There was more poor luck for Peter Knightly, who suffered an unspooled winch when an innocent victim of a collision.
A really fun day with perfect timings as Dartmoor rain began to fall as we closed the gate behind us!
