GRAHAM CLEANS UP AT DARTMOOR. Visitor’s from as far afield as Buccaness and Fleetwood clubs joined the Dartmoor MBC fleet boats to contend this year’s National Championships. Most of the competitors took the opportunity to go through scrutiny on the Friday afternoon preceding the event, which resulted in a more relaxed atmosphere on the first morning of racing. DAY 1 – Whilst the race team moved buoys around on the lake to cater for the forecasted veering SSW wind direction most competitors enjoyed the sun engaging with each other and talked boats. This was not the case however for Graeme[…]

DRAGON FLITE 95 TT ROUND 12 – RACE REPORT
DRAGON FLITE 95 TT ROUND 12 – RACE REPORT. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES – following on from a very windy race day for the 65’s the day before, Sunday dawned with much better conditions being forecasted. The race team led by Paul Newman and James Scrimshaw hoped that the variable WSW wind forecasted with a chance of going further South would remain stable enough to use the same course as the day before. IOM June 2019 Results and report
A bright start to the day ensued but with the promise of the occasional shower and more importantly increasing wind strengths the race proceeded in earnest . We got very little rain as was forecast but some good solid gusts and the occasional lulls over the day’s racing made it self known . We had a reasonable entry that fared well for some good close racing and that is what we got. The course setting was on the far bank giving us a better distance to the windward mark in this fast class . Jerry and Graeme put together[…]

It was a great day for the IOM racing as the weather was ideal to us all who took part in it. A bit fresh in parts but not as before during the bitter winter winds so we can look forward to our racing in better conditions …. The wind angle, or should I say angles ,which once again did not go to our liking for setting a longer windward beat as one can set on the far bank of the lake, gave us yet again the` short straw`of choices . ..Graeme Harris, who is doing a great job of[…]
